About Us

The L2 Accent Reduction Centre was established to address the growing communication needs of Vancouver's multicultural workforce. When we opened our doors in May 2008, we knew that there was a lack of services for skilled professionals. Although, there were many ESL courses available, we acknowledged that skilled professionals needed training that goes beyond ESL. Most skilled professionals are highly fluent in English, and yet there are many barriers that cannot often be pinpointed. Many employers make the mistake of sending their employees for more English Language training, but that is not the best decision because it is not an ESL issue.

At the L2 Accent Reduction Centre we have developed effective techniques that help people to overcome the subtleties of the English language, whether that be instruction in retraining the muscles of the mouth , techniques for writing professionally, or techniques to help one sound more professional through voice projection, word usage, and portraying a successful professional demeanor.

We have worked with many government agencies, large corporations, and other organizations that span the gamut of industries from engineers, lawyers, dentists, doctors, nurses, administrative staff, sales managers, professors, teachers, technical support staff, IT professionals, and many other professions.

Individuals who have taken our courses have found that they developed greater confidence and fluency in their speech. Companies that have worked with us have found that communication problems have dissipated with a happier and more confident work place.

L2’s instructors are highly skilled and have over 20 years of combined experience in Curriculum Design, Accent Reduction, English Language Training, Test Preparation, Linguistics, Speech Pathology, human resources, e-learning, management, marketing and cultural diversity.

L2 has cultivated a reputation for being the language expert centre for skilled immigrants.
